On August 10, during his working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Director General of Kamaz Automaker Sergey Kogogin visited a new plant of cabin carcasses for KAMAZ.
Construction of a carcass plant for the trucks of the K5 generation began in March 2016. Today, there are starting-up and adjustment works to be continued until the end of autumn.
Minnikhanov noted the importance of the new plant not only for Tatarstan, but also for the development of the machine-building industry in Russia.
“The KAMAZ is an enterprise of strategic importance. We have high hopes for new production facilities. These are new jobs and a new competitive product in the automotive market,” Tatarstan President emphasized.
The new plant consists of four shops: painting, welding, logistics and energy centre. The production capacity will be 55,000 units per year. The production facility will be launched in the test mode in autumn and in manufacturing production next April.
