Dear Orthodox citizens!
I warmly congratulate you on the end of the Lent and Resurrection Sunday!
Easter is a truly bright holiday. It comes together with the spring, warming the Orthodox souls with faith in the forthcoming salvation, the all-conquering power of love, the triumph of the ideals of good and justice. Easter inspires hope and optimism in people, endowing everyone with the joy of creation and the accomplishment of good deeds.
For more than a thousand-year history of Orthodoxy in our country, the traditions of celebrating the Resurrection of Christ have become an inseparable part of the spiritual culture of many nations. “The Day of the Orthodox East, be held sacred, be held sacred, a great day, spread your Gospel wide and cover all Russia!”, the outstanding poet Fedor Tyutchev wrote, greeting Easter.
In our multinational republic, where traditional religions are treated with equal respect, the Resurrection of Christ is celebrated with particular solemnity. This is largely due to the eventful life of the Orthodox community, as well as fruitfully developing interreligious cooperation and state-religious interaction.
Easter is a divine urge for peace and harmony. It is more pressing in our difficult time than ever before. Today, each one of us, regardless of nationality and religion, wants to stop military conflicts and establish just world order on the planet.
I am sure that the Resurrection of Christ will strengthen the believers in the lifesaving desire for the highest truth, spiritual self-improvement and mutual understanding.
I sincerely wish you and your family peace, happiness and wellbeing!
